We swear in on this friday, lookin forward to it, but not to having to relenquish my norte security net. And of course not everyone has the same phone carrier so its going to be expensive to get ahold of all my favorite people! WIll update more later! Ciao!

Hi Linds - this is Sunday, so you must now be an official State Dept employee - an ambassador of sorts. Congratulations, you are in good and special company, and I am very proud of you! Nice to hear that you did get the frisbee(s) but not so good that the mushroom book sent on the same day as the ultimate frisbee has not yet arrived. I would like to know if you are ready to have me put any money into your checking account so that you can pay for things like phone calls and such - mom mentioned something about that, so that is why I am asking.
I am sorry I wasn't available to take your call last week...I heard the phone but was in the middle of a meeting with City of Soledad staff - my first municipal contract. They want me to analyze a shopping center development - they have a lot of climate change mitigations in the EIR but no green roof - too bad! It will be fun working in a city, as opposed to County context again. I have been slowly setting the stage for other contracts to take effect after the first of the year so I plan to be very busy after the holidays - my fingers are crossed!
Now as to Christmas. I understand from mom that Paraguayans do not share gifts. BUT I would like to send you something and since it takes A MONTH for stuff to get there, will your current address still be valid? What sorts of things have you found that you still need? I know you have water purification; however I have seen some neat stuff such as an ultaviolet pen that you stir in water for 90 seconds kills organisms. Might come in handy, and earlier you mentioned other books. Coming up with a way to stay in touch however frequently makes sense for you would be nice. Oh and I will be happy to send you some razors...the beard looks very cool although you might appreciate it more when the summer is over!

I'm going to try calling you today, as its christmas i figure its a good excuse to spend lots of money on my parents phone. so i was wondering the same thing as your dad (hi dad!) - will your address be the same? i can't believe you're a quasi spook now. weirdo.

Hi Linds - I hope you are having a great Christmas...Hilary said that you called mom this morning 5am! You can also call me anytime as well. (hi azzie) If I had your number (hint) I would give you a call today! Now that you are PCV instead of PCT and are at your permanent station I want to know what you think you might need and how can I get it to you! I was thinking something for your bicycling pleasure(!!) e.g. cap or hat,light, or overshoes, other things...its not always going to be so warm there is it? Julie and I got each other exercise equipment for Christmas and now we have to put it together! I am thinking about you over there - chickens and all! The pig is your good friend by now hopefully.
